About...

Welcome! I’m Jodun Du Puy (MA), a qualified Art Psychotherapist and talking therapist based in Rotherhithe, South East London. Since 2009, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people in a range of settings — including the NHS, mental health services, schools (mainstream and SEN), post-adoption services, and domestic violence charities. I offer therapy in person and online to adults, young people, and children, combining creativity with conversation to help you explore your thoughts and feelings and become more connected to yourself.

You don’t need to be creative to come to Art Psychotherapy Most of the people I work with have never heard of Art Psychotherapy and wouldn’t describe themselves as “artistic.” What matters most is your openness to exploring things in a slightly different way. Some clients use images or simple visual tools to express what’s hard to put into words — others prefer to talk. Either way, therapy with me is guided by what feels most helpful to you, giving you the space to work at your own pace.

Rooted in psychoanalytic thinking and guided by compassion My approach is grounded in psychoanalysis, meaning we’ll gently explore the root of your difficulties — not just to understand them, but to process what’s been held inside: shame, grief, stuck feelings, or parts of you that may have been hidden for a long time. I also draw from the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, and together, we’ll explore how early experiences might be shaping the way you relate to yourself and others. Through therapy, we will also work on building a more secure attachment, helping you become a stronger, kinder, and more resilient version of yourself.

Creative and practical tools Using art materials can be a powerful way to access your thoughts and feelings. You might find it helpful to use them to map out your experiences, explore themes, or organize overwhelming thoughts. I’m here to help you in whatever way feels most comfortable for you. I also offer visualizations, strategies, and tools from different therapeutic approaches, ensuring that our work is flexible, supportive, and tailored to your needs. Holding both the heavy and the light Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. While there’s space for sadness, anger, and everything in between, I also bring in humor, lightness, and celebrate the moments of change with you. Healing isn’t just about working through pain — it’s also about finding joy, hope, and rediscovering your inner strengths.

My qualifications and experience I’ve always been a creative person, and after studying Sculpture (BA), I felt drawn to helping people through creativity. This led me to train as an Art Psychotherapist (MA). I’m passionate about how creativity can reach parts of us that talking therapy alone sometimes cannot, offering a compassionate space to explore thoughts and feelings.

I hold a Master’s degree in Art Psychotherapy and am a registered member of the HCPC, BAAT, and BACP. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals facing emotional difficulties, trauma, and complex life challenges, adapting my approach to meet each person’s needs. I’ve also lectured at universities and provided mental health training. My career started with a focus on attachment and developmental trauma, working with parents and children, and has evolved to helping adults navigate their emotional landscapes.
